Sacramental Preparation
First Reconciliation & First Eucharist for ChildrenThe sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist are celebrated when children are in second grade. Children and parents begin the monthly preparation in September and continue through April.
First Reconciliation is celebrated at the Communal Penance Service in December at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. First Eucharist is celebrated at the weekend Masses at St. Mary's the first weekend in May.
Older children are also welcome to prepare and receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist.

The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation
Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God's mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion.
